What On Earth Does 5 Blue Dots Mean, Anyway?

As newbies on the new Smart Points program in March, one of the gems we quickly discovered is the user friendly app.  Within this app, you can scan your foods for points values, look up recipes, and track what you eat.  There is also a chat area for support, and an Instagram like photo area where people can share before and after pics and recipes, etc.  And yes, you must purchase a Weight Watchers membership to use it. This is also linked to your weekly weigh-ins.  I don't even keep the standard book anymore- my progress is there for me to see in list or graph form.  At each weigh in, within minutes it shows up in the app and I can see where I am. Each day when you track your food intake, when you stay within the expected points, a blue dot will show up on your calendar within the app.  There is some leeway (the daily points goal is generally 30... you earn a dot for anywhere from 27-37 points).  It's like when you offer a child who is potty training a sticker- they want th

Our Weight Watchers story starts in March 2017... but really it goes way back... Marisa and I are cousins, raised in a very close, want-to- be Italian, Irish family of 7 aunts/uncles and 18 first cousins, mostly all living in Niagara Falls, NY.  This close of  a family meant get togethers galore, monthly cake and ice cream filled birthday parties, and always "what are we going to eat", not "what are we going to do". So, bring on years of pizza and wings after softball games, Dee Dee's dairy for ice cream regularly, buffets of roast beef, pasta, meatballs, and bread... lots of feel good food leading to a lifetime of using food to feel good.
