What On Earth Does 5 Blue Dots Mean, Anyway?

As newbies on the new Smart Points program in March, one of the gems we quickly discovered is the user friendly app.  Within this app, you can scan your foods for points values, look up recipes, and track what you eat.  There is also a chat area for support, and an Instagram like photo area where people can share before and after pics and recipes, etc.  And yes, you must purchase a Weight Watchers membership to use it.

This is also linked to your weekly weigh-ins.  I don't even keep the standard book anymore- my progress is there for me to see in list or graph form.  At each weigh in, within minutes it shows up in the app and I can see where I am.

Each day when you track your food intake, when you stay within the expected points, a blue dot will show up on your calendar within the app.  There is some leeway (the daily points goal is generally 30... you earn a dot for anywhere from 27-37 points).  It's like when you offer a child who is potty training a sticker- they want that sticker! I want my blue dot.

Why 5?  Well, we are human, and ones who particularly love food.  I know Marisa religiously has her pizza night.  I daydream all week about what I might have.  Doritos, a Take 5 bar... the list can go on.  We usually have a pizza or sub night too.  And, due to life being, well, life, sometimes shooting for M-F as success days just works best.

So, if you're just starting off- use that app! If you're currently and not taking advantage of it then you should! It's very user friendly and takes the guess work out of so much.
